Platforms and content we cover
Each platform writes and enforces its own rules. A report that quotes the right policy, with clear evidence, is far more likely to be reviewed properly than a generic complaint.
Facebook and Instagram
Posts, comments, pages and groups that break Meta's rules on harassment, privacy, impersonation, hate speech or intellectual property.
TikTok
Videos and comments involving harassment, private information, impersonation or misuse of your content.
Posts and profiles that make false claims about your professional conduct, impersonate you or your company, or harass your staff.
X (Twitter) and Reddit
Posts and threads that share private information, target you with abuse, or use your copyrighted images.
How it works
Free assessment
Send us the links. Within one business day we tell you which routes are realistic for each item, and which are not.
Evidence and plan
We collect screenshots, URLs and dates, map each item to the rule or law it breaks, and give you a fixed quote.
Reports and requests
We prepare and file the platform reports, legal forms and publisher requests, and follow up on each one.
Follow-up and monitoring
We track every request to a decision, escalate where possible, and watch for the content coming back.
What we can and cannot do
We would rather tell you the truth at the start than sell you a promise. Platforms and courts make the final decision on removal, not us.
We can
- Identify which platform policy each post actually breaks
- File reports and legal forms through official platform channels
- Follow up and appeal where a first report is rejected
- Combine reports with legal routes when content is unlawful
We cannot
- Guarantee that a platform or court will remove anything
- Remove genuine reviews or honest opinions you disagree with
- Hack, threaten or pay anyone to take content down
- Give legal advice ourselves (we work alongside lawyers for that)
Routes available in Hong Kong
Which route fits depends on what was posted, who posted it and where. We go through this with you in the free assessment.
Community standards reports
Every platform has rules on harassment, bullying, privacy and hate speech. These reports are free and are often the fastest route.
Privacy, impersonation and intellectual property forms
Separate forms exist for private information, intimate images, fake accounts and copyright. They are reviewed by different teams from general reports.
PCPD cessation notices
For doxxing content, the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data can issue cessation notices requiring platforms and hosts to remove it, including platforms based outside Hong Kong.
This page is general information, not legal advice. Where a case needs a lawyer, we work with your own counsel or introduce a law firm.
Social Media Content Removal FAQs: Hong Kong
Can you remove a negative comment about my business?
Only if it breaks the platform's rules or the law, for example harassment, false statements of fact or sharing private information. Honest criticism usually stays, and we will tell you so at the start.
Can the Privacy Commissioner force a platform to remove a post?
For doxxing content, yes. The Commissioner can issue cessation notices to platforms and service providers. We help you document the case for a complaint.
Why did my own report get ignored?
Generic reports are often closed automatically. Reports that cite the specific policy, include clear evidence and use the right form are reviewed more carefully.
How fast is it?
Some reports are decided in days, others take a few weeks. Legal routes take longer. You get a realistic estimate in the free assessment.
